6×9 Matchmaker Journals (CTD) What is a Matchmaker Journal? A circle-the-date journal with dotGrid pages and a customizable cover to showcase one’s interests to the world. Why would someone want a Matchmaker Journal? To open up different windows of opportunity for acquaintances and strangers to start a meaningful conversation. When are Matchmaker Journals used? Anytime you’re open to the idea of spontaneous and/or unexpected opportunities to meet like-minded people. Where are Matchmaker Journals used? Coffee shops, public transit, the library, park benches, local taverns, sporting events, school, work, etc. Anywhere humans gather. Who uses Matchmaker Journals? Anyone who wants to create additional opportunities for conversations with people they don’t know well. However, it’s especially useful for those who struggle conversing with strangers (Shy Flirting) or for those who find it difficult to meet people with common interests. How do Matchmaker Journals work? It’s as simple as 1… 2… 3! Designate: Decide what interest areas (sports, hobbies, philanthropy, arts/music, career, animals, etc.) are most important to you. Designate a “circle area” (located on the front and back cover) for each interest. Decorate: Decorate each circle area to reflect your interest. For example, if your interest is SOCCER, you might put a sticker of a soccer ball in a circle area. OR you might write the word SOCCER in a circle area with a permanent marker. OR you might cut out the logo of your favorite soccer team and glue it to a circle area. There’s no wrong way to make a Matchmaker Journal uniquely yours. Display: Display the journal like a personalized billboard when in public places. For example: use a clear bag/purse to carry it in. OR set it on the table at the coffee shop so those who pass by can see it. OR read/write in the blank journal on the subway (handwriting has benefits, btw!).
